  • What is the best age to photograph newborns?
Ideally, I like to photograph newborns between 7 and 21 days old. During this period, feeding is usually well-established, skin is clear, and babies are still sleepy and moldable. They still love to curl up at this age, just like they were in utero.
  • What if my baby comes early or late?
No worries! When you book with me, I put your due date on my calendar and block off time two weeks before and two weeks after that date. If the baby is born really premature, we will wait until the baby is home to schedule the session. Babies tend to act their gestational age even when born prematurely.
  • Do we need to bring anything to the session?
No! I have invested in so many props, outfits, bonnets, headbands, etc. You are welcome to bring any sentimental items, but be aware that these don't always photograph well.
  • What if siblings don't cooperate?
I understand! Toddlers can be unpredictable, and we sometimes have to make the most of the situation. I have a range of poses and set-ups that I can try, and if necessary, I can work wonders in Photoshop! Additionally, I have a separate room in my studio where siblings can relax, play, and watch TV to help them feel more at ease.
  • What should we wear for the family portion?
The family portion of photos is usually shot on a black or tan backdrop. For the black backdrop all you need is plain black shirts - so easy! This allows for a monochromatic, classy and timeless look. For the tan backdrop earth toned neutrals generally work best. My editing style tends to be more warm so I would avoid cool tone colors.
